Kuwait Praises Imam Khamenei's Fatwa
Kuwait government praised Monday Muslim scholars to address discord and sectarian extremism, while commending World Shia leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei's religious decree (fatwa) in which he forbid offending Sayyeda Aisha, wife of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him), or any Muslim icon.
The Cabinet, in its meeting chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, said it was confident that Muslims were aware of all attempts to create discord amongst them.
The Cabinet, in this context, discussed all efforts to confront plans of sectarian discord and to show how Islam was a "civilized" religion, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Roudhan Al-Roudhan said in a statement after the government meeting.
